Discuss planned database changes
Compare source and planned task structures on a map and discuss relationships and indexes before applying a migration.
SchemaMap 0.14.0 · Updated · The editor uses Russian UI labels, shown as written.
Audience and inputs
For a migration author and reviewer. Bring source metadata, a task and a description of the proposed change. A SQL draft or file names can be attached as evidence; SchemaMap does not execute them.
Review the plan together
- Save a baseline process sheet.
- Use the assistant to add future tables, columns, relationships and indexes to the common task plan.
- Show affected tables and JOINs on another sheet.
- Record decisions, limitations and questions in the journal; grant the reviewer area access.
- After applying the actual migration outside SchemaMap, synchronize the source and reconcile the plan.
The result is a reviewable future context shared across every sheet in the task.
Result boundaries
The plan does not measure locks, DDL duration, data volume or actual migration safety. Clearing a plan may conflict with dependent sheets; reconcile them together. Learn with invented shop columns rather than accessing a production database.
