Tables, foreign keys, JOINs and indexes

Read columns, composite foreign keys, code JOINs and index metadata; distinguish structural evidence from SQL measurements.

SchemaMap 0.14.0 · Updated · The editor uses Russian UI labels, shown as written.

Inspect properties

Select a table on the map: the right inspector shows columns, types, nullability, comments, descriptions, indexes and relationships. It remains the primary detail panel. Click a relationship to see FK columns or JOIN evidence. Composite and self-referencing FKs remain explicit relationships, rather than guesses based on a column name.

Primary-key columns are gold; other indexed columns are blue. Inspect index composition: column membership alone does not prove usefulness for every query.

Structure and JOIN overlay

1:1 FKs are gray and 1:N FKs blue. JOINs are dashed green; red indicates missing covering index metadata on at least one side. INNER / LEFT / RIGHT / FULL appears on the line when known. This is not EXPLAIN, execution timing or a recommendation to apply an index without validation.

«Схема / + JOIN» (Schema / + JOIN) adds the current sheet’s dynamic JOINs. Permanent FKs and imported SQL VIEW dependencies remain. Purple VIEW lines identify source tables; output-column equivalences are not invented. An agent or metadata import supplies JOINs and SQL/file/line evidence; SchemaMap does not execute that SQL.

Shared illustrations and examples

The image icon opens table screenshots, shared by canonical table ID within the area. Owners/editors upload PNG/JPEG/WebP. Limits are 10 MiB and 20 MP per image, 20 images and 50 MiB per table. Ensure attachments are suitable for all area members.

The grid icon opens one synthetic example: up to 100 rows, 1 MiB and 2,000 characters per scalar cell. MCP writes require an editor, write scope and synthetic:true. The browser only reads and follows canonical FKs. Examples are never extracted from source records.
